Four Tips On Take Good Care Of Your Android Phone

1. It’s advised that you use the Mobile phone set. A Mobile phone set can protect your phone from friction of mobile phone casing. Reduce damage when your phone fell into the ground or water. Of course, it doesn’t mean that your phone will not be damaged in any situation. You should take care of it when you are using or leave it somewhere.

2. Attention to the place where you use your phone. There are slits and holes on the phone, Steam is easy to run into the phone through the holes, which leads to erosion of Circuit board. So don’t use your phone in the bathroom or in the rain. And don’t put you phone in the air oulet where release cool air. The condensed moisture will corrode the phone. It will get worse as time goes by. It will be late when your realized this.

3. Pay attention to carry method. Every body gets their own way to carry their phone. But it does damage the phone with some inappropriate ways. For example, some people like to put their phone in the back pocket of the pants. It will damage the phone when you sit on or drop it by extrusion. Like small phone, some people used to keep it in the lapel pocket. But it will easily fall on the ground when you bent down to do something.

Securing your Android Ice Cream Smartphone

While consumers might be able to make do with a simple PIN code to protect their Nexus 7 tablet, business users need to give a bit more thought to protecting their device.

Here's a rundown of what I did to protect my new Nexus 7.

Given the diversity of Android devices on the market, this information may or may not be applicable to other Android-powered devices.

All these options can be found under Security in the Settings app.

Screen lock

While using "Face Unlock" or a pattern to unlock the Nexus 7 might be convenient, neither offers the security of a PIN code or password.
Whichever you choose, consider six characters a minimum, and I would recommend bumping this up to eight or more if you carry sensitive information on your tablet.

Automatically lock

I set this to 5 seconds because this gives me a small window between the device going to sleep and it needing a password, bit not such a big one that it could be a vulnerability.
If you have sensitive information, then push this up to "Immediately".

Power button instantly locks

This is a no brainer. If I switch off the device, I want it locked immediately.

Encryption

Encrypting a tablet is quite a long process, but it's important if you want to make sure that the data on the device is safe from prying eyes. Encryption is the best way to make sure that all data you have on the tablet remains safe in the event of the tablet being lost or stolen.

Verify apps

You don't want any old junk installed on your BYOD or business tablet, so make sure that apps only come from reputable sources.

Other steps

Here are some other precautions that anyone using an Android tablet should take if it is being used in a business setting.
  • Install an antimalware app. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that Android — or, for that matter, any other platform — is invulnerable. Every little bit of protection helps.
  • If possible, pick an antimalware app that supports a "find your device" and remote wipe.
  • While it's not applicable to the Nexus 7, if you use external storage on your Android tablet — in the form on an SD card — then make sure that this is encrypted.
  • Don't root the device. While this is OK for consumers, it dramatically increases the attack surface, making it unwise in a business setting.

How to print from Android?

The print job has to go through a computer that can already use that printer. If your PC isn't on when you tell your phone or tablet to print a document or photo, the actual printing won't happen until you next boot the computer.

The whole trick depends on Google's free Cloud Print technology. This requires Chrome on your PC, and a Google account, such as you would need for Gmail or Google Docs. You have to be logged onto that account on both the phone and the PC.

To set everything up on the computer, launch Chrome, click the menu icon in the upper-right corner (it looks like three horizontal lines) and select Settings. At the bottom of the page, click Show advanced settings. Scroll down to the Google Cloud Print section.

What options you'll see depends on other settings. Most likely you'll see an Add printers or a Manage print settings button. The first will add your installed printers to the list. The second will allow you to see what printers are there.

To prepare your phone or tablet, download and install a Cloud Print-supported app; you'll find several on Google's Cloud Print App page

I tried the first, Paulo Fernandes' Cloud Print, and have no complaints. It's free, and it found my Google account on the phone without problems. (The Google page describes it as BETA, but neither Fernandes' page nor the app itself says anything of the kind.)

After the easy setup, Cloud Print appears as an option any time you tap Share on a file or photo. Select it, then tap Click here to print.

If your computer is on, it will print. If not, it will print later.

Tips Android (How To?)

Introduction

Best Android Tips and TricksThe Android operating system has been developing fast since the release of Version 2.x (ranging from Eclair, Froyo to Gingerbread) for smartphones and Version 3 (Honeycomb) for tablets. It achieves another great milestone with the latest Version 4 (Ice Scream Sandwich or ICS), a universal system suitable for running on both smartphone and tablet devices.

If you're using a smartphone running on the Android version 2.x, you will be familiar with the four hardware buttons—Back, Menu, Home and Search—to interact with the system. Borrowing the design built for the tablet, Google's flagship smartphone Galaxy Nexus running on Android 4.0 now has no hardware buttons on the front, not even one. These hardware buttons turn virtual, leaving only two physical buttons—Volume and Power—on the left and right sides of the device.

Like the screenshot, the three buttons BackBack-16.png, HomeHome-16.png and Recent AppsRecent-Apps-16.png often appear on a home screen and the Menu buttonMenu-16.png only shows up when an app needs it. When you playback a video, the default media app hides all these onscreen buttons and takes up the whole screen area for your video. A pretty good idea.
If you've just got a new Android device running on Version 4.0, these tips and tricks might be of help to you. Some relevant information on older versions of Android is added for ease of reference where applicable.

Note: These tips and tricks work best with Android 4.0 on Galaxy Nexus. Some steps here may differ from your Android system if it is of a previous version or has been modified by the device supplier.

Here are the steps to follow:

  2. Select the app you want to close.
  3. Tap the 'Force stop' button and tap 'OK' to confirm.

How to Create, Rename and Remove Folders

Other than the apps on the tray, sometimes it's difficult to quickly look for an app to open if you have many icons spreading across a few home screens. Why not create a folder to group similar apps together? It's much easier than you might think.

  2. Drag the icon over the top of another. The system then automatically groups two app icons in a folder.
  3. Touch the folder, then tap "Unnamed Folder", key in a name for the folder and tap "Done".
You can rename a folder at any time—tap a folder then tap its name to rename.
While the system auto creates a folder for you, it does the same to removing a folder automatically—tap a folder to expand it, then clear all grouped items inside the folder—just touch and hold, then drag them out from the folder one by one.
Note: Older Android system doesn't support this feature, but you can rely on a third-party app such as GO Launcher EX to achieve almost the same effect.
